Meet the Founder

Aparna Rakesh-Murakonda

Built by a traveler, for travelers

Mosaico was founded by Aparna Rakesh-Murakonda, a traveler who has stayed in every kind of accommodation across 27 countries and 75+ cities.

After years of loving hostels but feeling let down by their comfort and maturity — and loving hotels but missing their warmth — she set out to build the place she and her community wished existed.

The idea came to her one morning in a Chicago apartment. She's dedicated herself since to building the brand and business model that will succeed not only in Madrid, but across Europe — moving there in 2026 with her husband, two little dogs, and a team of industry experts to make it real.
